Project 1 | Experiencing Construction
The design process is ongoing from conceptual design stage right through to construction. The preparation of construction drawings plays an important role in this process.
Our task is to select an ongoing construction site which visibly demonstrates most of the subject topics covered in the syllabus. Our selected sites should be medium rise or low rise buildings eg. bungalow, terrace houses or maximum 4-storey building. Hence we chose the site Opus Lake Vicnity, Cyberjaya construction sites to carry on the site visits. To identify different types of building elements and its construction process, details and materials. we study and record construction of different building elements. Specifically, we are able to show and apply your knowledge in the details of the building construction drawing that we are to compile, thereby reflecting our understanding of the construction itself.
During the site visit, we were guided by a person-in-charge to bring us around and did the explaining. I did further research on handbooks and online researches on doors and windows. It was then compiled together with my group mates' works.

project 2 | construction details and specification
This project is a continuation of the first project, an integrated project where it involves construction detailing solution for Project 2b in Architecture Studio 2. This project is designed to allow the demonstration of knowledge and understanding of construction and application from prior project. Emphasis in producing related manual construction drawing for STEEL and/or TIMBER detail and specification.
Technical knowledge is viewed as something separate from design. One of the aims of this assignment is to develop an awareness and understanding of the strong inter- relationship between these two areas of study. Critical success of any design project relies on a designer’s ability to address issues of appropriate methods of construction, integration of structure and the selection of materials whilst addressing the many other complex issues that are part of the design process.
This assignment will enable us to develop and demonstrate some knowledge of construction, materials and structural theory in a small scale design project.

Our task is to identify and propose three numbers of details for selected element or part of the building apart from providing the necessary plans, section and elevations.
The three architectural/ structural detailings must cover the following designs in our studio project:
1) Roof 2) Superstructure (wall/slab/staircase etc.) 3) Joint and connection
I've done three architectural detailings that have covered the following designs: roof, wall ( louvres), floor.
